Your podcast Miss Congeniality, your lists on TikTok. Right? This is where we know you from from social media. So I think that’s really cool how you symbolize that in this cover.īRITTANY: So, let’s talk about your experience of taking your three-minute TikTok videos. ![]() And yeah, it really, like you said, it’s not necessarily about being brokenhearted, but about, you know, finding those pieces and putting those pieces together. I know they always say don’t judge a book by its cover, but if I saw this book in a store, I would gravitate towards it. But I’m really grateful for said process because it wound up being exactly what we needed and what I needed at the end of the day.īRITTANY: Again, the attention to detail. And that’s when it was really like, “Oh, wow, this is the cover.” So it was definitely quite the process. We asked HarperCollins if they could check if they could buy it and if they could replace the image on the cover we liked with that image instead. So we found the image that’s on the cover. It’s like a whole thing with copyright and whatnot. So one of my agents was like, “What if we could find an image that was like a bunch of broken candy hearts in the shape of a heart?” So we started searching for clip art, and you can license and purchase clipart. Your ability to heal is all you really have.” So it didn’t really make full sense to have that cover be a broken heart. It’s moreso about you can have a broken heart, but you can’t ever really lose yourself like you, and your choice is all you really have. ![]() So my agents and I were side barring the three of us, and having a conversation about it, and we were like, “It isn’t really about being brokenhearted. So that was something that was happening throughout the process as we saw different covers, and we were seeing covers that had just one candy heart that was broken, and it was actually the same colorways of the same pink, the same yellow, and the same fonts, but it just didn’t feel right. The decision is obviously yours at the end of the day as the author, but you’re consulting them constantly, especially if you have a good relationship with them. If you’re not familiar with the publishing industry, the sort of role of an agent after they like, advocate for you and help you to sell your book is sort of like acting as a liaison between you and the publisher, you and your editor, and things like the cover will be a conversation that always includes your agent. ![]() So it’s actually kind of an interesting story because it’s less so that it was presented to me and more so that I went out looking for it. When you saw this, what made you think that’s the cover of the book?ĮLI: Yeah. I want to go back and look at this.” So, in this book, there is just so much information and attention to detail, right? Everything from your rules to your tips and even the cover I saw you went through like a cake design, an animated silhouette, and even another version of the candy hearts. Let me tell you, some of them were questions that I wanted to ask, but also some I wanted to remember things, like, “I want to remember this. I haven’t marked up a book like this since high school. We have it right here, and you can see I marked it up. I’m so excited.īRITTANY: Congratulations on your book, I Didn’t Know I Needed This. BRITTANY: Eli, thank you so much for speaking with Glitter today.ĮLI: Thank you for having me.

![]() Asymmetrically balanced design is beneficial because it makes it easier to create a focal point. ![]() For example, you may use a large image of your product in contrast to smaller, contrasting elements in order to bring attention to it and develop a greater impact.Īsymmetrical Balance Top Tips Use a Focal PointĪ focal point is a specific point within your design that captures and draws in the viewer’s eye. With an imbalance in design, asymmetry can also be used to highlight an important element. This makes it a powerful tool to use in marketing materials, especially on websites. So, you can use this type of design to catch attention, develop interest, set a tone of informality, and even provoke emotions such as awe or tension. Where symmetrical design is restricted by ensuring that one design is reflected and repeated, asymmetrically balanced designs open the doors to developing any level of detail you want without the need to reflect that design elsewhere. For example, a start-up that’s targeting customers in the 18-35 age range would likely benefit from using asymmetrical balance in its branding and website to highlight its younger, more edgy vibe.Īsymmetrical balance can also help you develop more intricate and complicated designs. This is especially beneficial for modern businesses that are leaning toward a more personable and relatable brand to their customers. ![]() But this is only the case when you know when and where to use it in order to achieve the desired impact.Īsymmetrical balance can help you create a more casual impact in your designs. If so, it may want to rethink its procedures. We've checked the GeForce RTX 4090's documentation and online user manuals, and there are no instructions or guidelines on manipulating the 16-pin power connector or its cable. It's curious that the potential problems with the power adapter apparently never showed up in Nvidia's testing. On the flip side, there aren't many ATX 3.0 units on the market, and they are expensive. These power supplies already come with the 12VHPWR connector, so adapters aren't needed. ATX 3.0 power supply owners seem unaffected. Up to now, we've only seen complaints from consumers using the bundle 4x8-pin to 1x16-pin power adapter. PCI-SIG detected the same mating issues around 40 cycles. Remember that the 12VHPWR power connector has a service life of 30 connection cycles. While right-angle adapters can reduce cable bending, owners aren't out of the danger zone yet. The connector from the photograph is a sample, and Seasonic didn't reveal the launch date or pricing. Unfortunately, we can't see the other end of the cable, so we're unsure if Seasonic's product is an adapter or a special cable designed to connect directly to the brand's power supplies. Seasonic's 90-degree connector doesn't look as pretty as Cablemod's adapter, but it should work similarly. While the adapter sells on October 31, the pricing is unknown. Cablemod has announced the brand's custom right-angle 16-pin power adapter, which uses a multiple PCB design and promises zero bending. Seasonic isn't the only one with a workaround. However, we've seen user feedback that the problem persists even at longer distances, for example, 40mm. Cablemod, a popular custom cable vendor, recommends at least 35mm of space from the 16-pin power connector before bending the cable. As a result, the load becomes unbalanced over the remaining terminals, which increases the risk of overheating and melting the connector. Like any power cable, bending the 16-pin adapter's cable immoderately, whether vertically or horizontally, can cause the terminal to come loose and mess up the integrity of the mating. ![]() ![]() Performed by a cast with boundless talent, you can’t help but want to cheer.īut I’m a Cheerleader: The Musical is at the Turbine theatre, London, until 16 April. There are a few standout numbers: the song Step 2: Pink and Blue has a catchy chorus with some amusing choreography where the students are forced to learn a physicality for their birth genders. Too many indistinguishable, repetitive scenes mean that the musical doesn’t reach its potential. Squashed together on David Shields’s pink Barbie dreamhouse-like set, they quickly change costumes, multi-role and dance to the highest quality – but all their hard work appears a little rushed with so much for them to carry. Mink Stole is delightfully smarmy as Amanda's (Natasha Lyonne) mother who sends Amanda the cheerleader to `True Directions' a homosexual deprogramming camp - camp being the key word - mostly based on the fact that she doesn't like her quarterback boyfriend's extremely wet and sloppy kisses and (heaven forbid!) she has a poster of Melissa Etheridge in her bedroom. ![]() Synthetic historyĮverything that made the 2600 a brilliant instrument in 1970 still stands today: good sound, comprehensive features, and flexility that educates rather than overwhelms the user. Later, the 2600 would sport a different filter, adding yet another variable to please and perturb modern collectors. Moog got wind of the similarity and soon put a stop to it. Its oscillators were rich and precise, while its filter could hold its own with Moog's famous 24dB model - and for good reason, as it turned out, for the ARP 4012 filter design was pretty much a 1:1 copy! With both ADSR and AR envelopes and a built-in reverb tank, the 2600 was beautifully outfitted, even by today's standards. For instance, though all three debuting synths provided noise generators, the 2600 offered sample-and-hold circuitry, making it terrific for space-age bleeps and bloops. The new ARP instrument trumped the competition in other ways, too. ARP knew this, and its advertisements took pot shots at the competition. There was a distinct difference here, though, in that the 2600's oscillators were relatively stable in pitch - something that Moog and EMS simply couldn't match. Like the other soon-to-be-classics on show, the 2600 offered three oscillators with various typical waveforms on tap. The 2600 came down in the middle: there was a fixed path under the hood, but the signal could be rerouted by plugging cables into the vast array of 1/8" jacks that peppered the instrument's front panel. EMS used a pin matrix to make patch connections, while Moog eschewed patchability entirely for a fixed signal path. Each manufacturer took a different approach to the question of patching on its new portable powerhouses. ![]() Michael Jacobs & Dominique Othenin-Girard and Shem Bitterman Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers Films Filmĭhani Lipsius, Larry Rattner & Benjamin Ruffner and Alan B.
